CTSO Roundup - February 6-10, 2023

Gordon Cooper Technology Center students get the opportunity to be a part of an Oklahoma CareerTech Student Organization during their time at GCTC. CTSOs provide opportunities for personal growth and scholastic achievement, as well as developing skills in public speaking, planning and organizing. Members work on various community projects, competitive events, leadership activities, and meet other students who share similar interests. Many students enjoy membership in more than one group.

The CTSOs at Gordon Cooper are Business Professionals of America (BPA), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Heath Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and SkillsUSA.

 

PRAGUE, Okla. – Gordon Cooper Technology Center students participated in the FCCLA Regional Competition on Monday, Feb. 6, at Calvary Way Church.

Six students from the GCTC Early Care and Education program competed in the regional including Autumn Blanton (Cake Decorating) and Jacklyn Clifton and Jasmin Fox (Repurpose Redesign). All three students won gold in their respective contests.

Kamile Jones won bronze in Career Investigation. Mayleigh Vandussen competed in Child Literature while Hannah Wolford competed in Job Interview.

The 2023 FCCLA State Convention will be held April 6 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.

 

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Gordon Cooper Technology Center hosted the SkillsUSA Framing Competition Tuesday, Feb. 7.
