Global Entrepreneurship Week: Roller Shaved Ice

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Gordon Cooper Technology Center is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 8-14) by highlighting local businesses.

The first featured business is Roller Shaved Ice. This Tecumseh business has served icy treats to the community for 16 years and counting.

Owner/operator Britton Roller, a Tecumseh native, started the business in 2006 with his mother, Rita.

“We started Roller Shaved Ice when I was in college to help pay for school, and then I ended up turning it into a career,” Roller said.

According to Roller, he comes from an entrepreneurial family with many relatives, including his parents and grandparents, owning their own businesses and serving their communities.

“It has been amazing to watch a lot of our customers grow up before our eyes,” Roller said. “It is also important for us to give back to the community around us; the community we grew up in.”
