GCTC Statement on Coronavirus

Gordon Cooper Technology Center’s top priority is the safety and success of students. We, like many other schools, are taking precautions to safeguard our students, staff, and visitors from illness.

We are currently sanitizing and deep cleaning all public areas of the campus. We encourage anyone who is sick in anyway or thinks they may be sick to avoid coming on campus.

We are suspending all out-of-state travel indefinitely for students and staff. We are also indefinitely suspending clinical-learning opportunities until the situation improves.

We will have school on Friday, March 13, 2020, but students or parents who wish to maintain their social distance will be excused on that day.

We will reevaluate the situation during next week’s Spring Break.

When students and staff return from Spring Break, we will implement some form of screening to make sure individuals who have traveled to high-risk areas are self-quarantining for a safe amount of time.

Gordon Cooper will continue to monitor and comply with the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), and the Pottawatomie County Health Department (PCHD).
