Court Reporting Students Ready to Turn Pro

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Students from Gordon Cooper Technology Center’s Court Reporter program took a break last Friday to celebrate their near completion of the program and successful job placement.

Six students, Shannon Barton, Alexis Fierro, Aspen Howard, Taryn Thompson, Aspen Wardlow and Emily Wright have completed the written portion of the Certified Shorthand Reporter certification test. Four students are already working in the field in Bryan, McIntosh, Okfuskee and Oklahoma Counties.

The GCTC Court Reporter program enjoys a 60 percent completion rate, topping the national average completion rate of 23 percent.
