TULSA, Okla. – Gordon Cooper Technology Center staff were in Tulsa for the 2026 Oklahoma Summit conference at the Arvest Convention Center.

On Sunday GCTC was recognized as a Gold Star School by OKACTE for the 25th time during the annual awards reception.

GCTC Instructor, Russell Tarpey, was honored as the Dennis Portis Rising Star Award winner for the BMITE division during the general session on Monday afternoon.

Gordon Cooper Technology Center is an accredited institution and is one of 29 Career and Technical education options within Oklahoma's globally recognized Career Tech System. GCTC serves an area in East-Central Oklahoma covering approximately three counties.
