The Fleet and Grounds Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting essential processes related to campus events, grounds keeping, fleet activities, general maintenance tasks, and the ability to support our bus driving fleet as needed. This role involves coordinating room setups for campus events, assisting with grounds maintenance, performing routine maintenance tasks, and supporting facility projects as directed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude, along with the ability to handle physical tasks, operate equipment, and drive buses safely.
• Assist in mowing, edging, weed eating, pruning and various other duties associated with the grounds around campuses.
• Assist with the regular maintenance and/or fueling of fleet vehicles and other grounds keeping equipment.
• Insure that all grounds keeping equipment is serviced and cleaned (inside and outside) based upon approved schedule.
• Arrange rooms to meet specifications of campus employees or campus guests.
• Ensure all requested equipment for campus events are in the appropriate room and said equipment is in good working condition.
• Will perform routine maintenance or repairs in and around campus such as but not limited to: replacing light bulbs, painting, and any other facility maintenance or repairs as directed by supervisor.
• Will fill in as a bus driver as needed.
• Will assist with other facility or grounds projects as directed.
Required Education and Experience:
• Minimum of three years of experience in maintenance and/or grounds
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to obtain and maintain CDL with passenger endorsement
Competencies:
Must be a self-starter, an independent worker able to work in a team setting with a variety of people and as an individual. Must be able to maintain calm, logical behavior under pressure and in stressful situations. Must be able to effectively deal with clients/students of differing personality types. Must be organized and show initiative in accomplishing goals and tasks with and without supervision. Interpersonal skills in dealing with people outside the organization as well as with district employees. Ability to communicate in a professional manner. Ability to exercise reasoned judgment and discretion in performing tasks.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various district and event needs. The person in this position will occasionally move about inside classrooms, warehouses, and shops to access file cabinets, machinery, etc. The person in this position frequently communicates with students and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type/Classification:
This is a full-time, non-exempt, non- certified position.
Less than 50% travel, but must be able to travel when necessary.

Substitute Teachers
Gordon Cooper Technology Center is looking for substitute teachers for three campuses, Shawnee, Seminole, and Aviation. Successful candidates will have a positive attitude and supervisory skills to impact GCTC Students. They should have experience supervising and have some basic classroom management skills. The schedule can be flexible, we have morning and afternoon classes. Types of classes can be math, automotive, airframe & powerplant, cosmetology, criminal justice etc... We are flexible on days & hours. We do not guarantee any certain number of hours. Salary: $12.88-$14.88 per hour, Professional Subs such as aviation, cosmetology etc. can make up to $30 per hour. Substitute Bus Driver
We are searching for a few substitute drivers to assist when drivers out and to cover fieldtrips. Successful applicants should have the following qualifications: Meet or exceed all Oklahoma Department of Public Safety School Bus Driver License Requirements and meet or exceed all Prerequisites for Oklahoma Public School Bus Drivers per the Oklahoma State Department of Education. An individual with 3 years of successful commercial or school bus driver experience is preferred.
