High School Students Only
Gordon Cooper Technology Center offers this full-time career pathway to high school juniors and seniors. Courses are offered from 7:45 to 10:45 AM and 12:55 to 3:55 PM Monday through Friday. A student can choose to attend either the AM or PM session or both sessions. All students must be interviewed before entering a career major.


Cosmetology prepares students to become licensed cosmetologists who provide nail, skin, scalp, and hair care to help enhance the customer’s personal appearance. Students receive classroom instruction and hands-on training in hair styling, cutting, coloring and chemical restructuring. Included are manicures/pedicures, facials, lash and brow tinting and arching, and scalp treatments, along with customer service and shop management.


High school students must complete 1,000 hours of training during their junior and senior years and receive a high school diploma to be eligible to take the state board exam. Seniors who start the program complete 1,500 hours of training as an adult. Please call for additional details. 

Entrance Requirements: Math and reading scores at 10th grade level or above.

Cosmetologist Potential Salary Range: $16,500 - $30,160
