New students and their families, GCTC graduates, community leaders and local business people are coming together for a fun-filled letter-of-intent signing day. Signing Day at the Shawnee Campus is 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27.

Rocket Man Run a success

Many thanks to all of the sponsors, organizers, volunteers, and runners who made this year's Rocket Man Run a great success. Proceeds benefit GCTC students in need through the school foundation.

Robotics Team Finishes Strong

The GCTC Pre-Engineering Academy FIRST Robotics team 2341 Sprockets completed a great season Saturday, March 25. The team placed third at regional competition. Many thanks to our wonderful mentors and a great group of staff and students!

Founding Board President Remembered

We are remembering the life and work of GCTC's founding school board president William A. Weaver. Bill Weaver died Feb. 25 at age 93. Mr. Weaver served on our board 18 years. He was inducted into the Gordon Cooper Hall of Fame in 2005. Bill's son, Bob Weaver, serves on the GCTC Education Foundation Board of Directors. Services for Bill Weaver were held Wednesday, March 1 at Walker Funeral Home. Please keep the Weaver family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Medical Laboratory Technology program at Seminole State College had a near death experience due to local decisions connected to state budget cuts last spring, but a quickly arranged partnership with Gordon Cooper Technology Center resuscitated it.

Robotics Tournament

On Saturday, Nov 19, GCTC hosted a FIRST Lego League Robotics Tournament and Jr. FLL Expo. This event was for elementary and middle school age students.

First Tech Challenge

GCTC is hosting FTC Robotics Tournament Saturday, Nov 12. FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge, part of a series of robotic competitions sponsored by FIRST Robotics. This tournament is a qualifier for the state tournament held in Weatherford in February.

8th and 10 graders visited

Enviro Systems CEO Paul Campbell spent part of the day Wednesday recruiting Gordon Cooper Technology Center students. Enviro Systems builds climate control equipment for the aviation industry.
